San Marino Central Bank’s leaders resign

After the removal of Stefano Caringi from the

San Marino Central Bank’s Supervision, Biagio Bossone and Luca Papi, respectively Chairman and Director, decided to hand in their resignation, followed by Luciano Murtas, member of the Supervision Authority of the Bank.

In a letter to the Captains Regent

Francesco Mussoni and Stefano Palmieri, Mr. Bossone and Mr. Papi expressed their disappointment for the government interferences in the activities of supervision and, more in general, in the work of renewal and transparency carried out by the Central Bank.

San Marino’s finance minister,

Gabriele Gatti, said to be surprised by these resignation that caused a sort of earthquake in the political circles of the Republic.
